LÉA THOMEN - born in France, is a dancer, choreographer and artist based in Switzerland. After obtaining her state diploma as a contemporary dance teacher (CESMD Toulouse), she joined the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (Institute for Contemporary Dance, Germany) in Master of Arts - Dance and Composition Option Interpretation - with the support of the DAAD scholarship. She has worked with many choreographers such as Henrietta Horn, Urs Dietrich, Mark Sieczkarek, Vanessa Voskuil & Jesse Zaritt (ADF 2013), Peter Chu & Sarah Lisette Chiesa (Springboard Danse Montréal). In April 2014, she created the "Compagnie HorizonVertical" in France. In order to make her projects sustainable in Switzerland, she created under the official form of an Association the Kompanie HorizonVertical in Weinfelden (TG) in 2019. For the piece „Nachtfeder”, created in collaboration with Linda Brodhag, she received the „Förderpreis Choreography” of the TanzPlan Ost Festival 2018 and La Société Suisse des Auteurs (SSA). In May 2019, she started the project „Atelier Tanz Thurgau #1” with Mirjam Bührer in cooperation with Eisenwerk, Frauenfeld, and Phönix Theater, Steckborn. Since September 2019, she has been studying physiotherapy at the HES-SO Valais-Wallis as part of the bilingual (German and French) SAE program for athletes and artists. www.horizon-vertical.ch
